[SARC] OARC December Meeting

Just a reminder about this Thursday's meeting of the Opp Amateur Radio 
Club. I also wanted to point out a few items regarding this meeting.

First, and foremost, our December meeting is when we vote on next year's 
officers. So if you want your vote to count, please make sure you're 
there! The following lists the nominations for offices for 2008:

President -- Bob Lawrence KI4RWL
Vice President -- Tip Moses KE7GYO
Secretary -- Jacob King KI4LFI
Treasurer -- Wayne Alday W4WEA
Repeater Trustee -- George Wheeler KI4RNQ

Of course, before the vote is made (by secret ballot), nominations will 
be taken for any of the above offices. And the ballots will have spaces 
to write in candidates. The ballots will be counted by 3 members 
consisting of 1 officer and 2 non-officers.

Another important item on the agenda will be the menu for the OARC 
Holiday Dinner to be held tentatively Jan 5th, 2008 at MD's Cafe. Menus 
will be available at the meeting for everyone to look at and decide what 
you would like your meal to be. We'll then turn this in to MD's, so they 
will be able to have everyone's meal ready for that night. So, if you 
plan on attending the dinner, please make sure you're at the meeting so 
you can select your menu item!

I also have a new feature to tell you about that we will start offering 
this month. Since we are an ARRL-affiliated club, we can now accept ARRL 
membership dues for either joining or renewing your ARRL-membership. 
This can save you the hassle of mailing your payment in. Best of all, 
the club receives a commission from the ARRL dues (always a nice thing)! 
Membership forms will be available at each of the meetings, and you can 
join or renew at any time.

Last, but not least, I want to congratulate all of the new hams and 
upgrades we had from the last test session. If you know any new hams who 
may need any help and guidance, feel free to ask us! That's what it's 
all about: hams helping each other.
