The Machine is up for testing purposes and on the air.
The Tone board is not installed as of yet. Will be this afternoon. Just want
to be sure about my wiring on that.
Echolink is on the air. The machine is likely to be pretty deaf no portable
only mobile and base. The recieve antenna (j-Pole) is about 10 ft in the
air, The TX antenna is 62ft on a ringo ranger. I'll try to raise the RX
antenna or swap them out when i can check the SWR on the J-Pole it was built
and hung quickly to get it on the air. The problem with the machine cutting
out and over modulating is repaired. The Exciter Crystal socket was widened
quite a bit so when it got warm the holder would expand and barely make
contact. and the tapping on the machine wiggeled it like a loose tooth. I
have soldered the crystal in for a better connection. The recieve crystal is
tight in it's sockets but it wouldnt hurt to solder it in as well. It's not
like youre changing the freq anytime soon.
If we could talk on it 2-3 days or so and make sure it's working fine it
will be ready to go home.
Thanks
