Hello Everyone,
I have spoken to several of the Club members concerning the Fall picnic
we had scheduled for Oct. 13, 2007 at Frank Jackson State Park. I called the
Park and It seems that no SARC members have reserved a campsite for Saturday.

It seems that Oct. 13th was not a good weekend for the picnic this year.
Everyone that I have spoken to about this weekend has had something to come
up that will either keep them from coming or will be in the afternoon getting there.

As everyone is aware, my mother is in poor health so I opted not to get a campsite
in the case that I would get called to Mobile. I mentioned this at the club meeting.
My employer, Shaw Industries , is in the process of some major cutbacks in the
Andalusia labor force. As of this posting, my job has not been cut.
Also, I have since found out that Zachary has his first band competition scheduled
in Dothan this Saturday (all day event). These events knocks me and Debra out for Saturday.

Pat - KG4LNX has a 40 year class reunion this weekend.

Tim - KI4JDV has a Motorcycle Club ride for this Saturday.

The Opp Amateur Radio Club has a testing session scheduled for Saturday morning.

There is also a tailgate Saturday at Florida Town Park in Pace, FL. starting at 08:00am.

If someone has reserved a spot and still wants to have the SARC picnic, please post something
to that effect on the SARC Mailing List so all the other members that can to participate will know
there will be someone at the Park.

I am sorry about my current situation but I would hope that some will be able to get together and
have the picnic anyway? If not, we will have to plan something later.........John Brown - KE4HIE
