For our first test session in Opp, we have had a very successful test
session! We have 4 new Technician Class Licensees and 5 new General
Class Licensees in the area!

The new Tech's are as follows:

Kevin Birge
James W. "Wilson" Lawrence
David Mock
Carol Oswalt

We also had two others who tried out for their Tech license, and with a
little help, I believe they'll have no problem at the next test session
in December (no tentative date at this time, stay tuned!).

The new /AG's are as follows:

Lonnie Hataway Jr.	KI4HLZ
Jeff Mills KI4QBT
Mary Ann Moses KE7GYP
Tip Moses KE7GYO
George Wheeler KI4RNQ

We also had a couple of the General examinees to try for their Extra,
and they didn't do so bad. Hopefully in the coming months (with enough
interest), we can have an Extra course for those who'd like some help to
upgrade to the top level.

Again, congratulations to everyone, and I hope to hear both some new
calls on the repeater, as well as some new ones on the HF bands! Also a
big thanks to the teachers for the Tech and General courses, and to the
VE's who administered the exams today.

For those who passed their exams today, watch the FCC's ULS database
(http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/searchAdvanced.jsp) for your
new license/upgrade to show up. Just enter your last name, and the
city/state/zip code of your mailing address (callsign if applicable, ie.
if you passed an upgrade exam), and click "Search". You'll need to give
it a few days for the paperwork to be filed, so start looking around
Tuesday or Wednesday.
