FWIW - This is the Wx manual that accompanied me through my aviation 
career. From student pilot, private pilot, instrument pilot and airline 
transport pilot this was "the source". To pass the airline transport pilot 
written exam one had to have this manual committed to memory ! It has not 
been up dated since 1975 so there is some modern technology (doppler radar) 
absent. On this site the manual is in broken up into several pdf files and 
the "glossary of weather terms" (9 pages) might be worth printing off. 73
