One of our new members, Clyde Bennish, NL7VH has decided that
"taking a bull by the tail" might be a big task...but instead he has 
decided to "GRAB THE FOX BY THE TAIL".... If you were at our meeting 
this past Thursday, or if you read N4CU's report on the meeting you know 
that NL7VH volunteered to coordinate club FOXHUNTS.

He has studied the manual for his FT-60 and found there is a way for it 
to become a beacon.   I also have an FT-60 and when I reviewed that area 
of the manual for ARTS operations it referred to part 97.201(b)...and I 
found that there is a segment of the 2meter band that can be 
used...namely between 144.5 and 158.8mhz.

Clyde announced on the VHF net Saturday night that he was going to be a 
FOX for a Sunday afternoon hunt.   Check in time will be at 12noon on 
the W4AAZ Repeater and the hunt will commence at 1pm Sunday.    NL7VH 
will be on 144.600.  I will meet up with him before noon Sunday with 
Crestview City Maps showing him all of the PUBLIC LAND in the city...and 
believe me there is plenty to choose from.

So there's no football games on TV Sunday afternoon....just some 
basketball and golf...   Let's support our new member...and see if we 
can hunt him down!
