[SARC] TERMINATION OF SAME ALERTING SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENTS EFFECTIVE AUGUST 16 2008 - NWS TALLAHASSEE

Hey Chris,

I think you misread the announcement. What they will no longer do is issue
an alert on the SAME system for Special Weather Statements. This does NOT
affect watches and warnings...just the special weather statements which are
no more than advisories to let the listeners know of the possibility of
activity.

The SAME system will remain intact and in use as it has been for several
years now. No changes are being made to it.

John, if this is not correct, please correct me.
