Good luck Chris. MY last state when I was tryng for 10M WAS was
Mississippi. I worked a fellow in Biloxi to complete it. Good luck with
the Utah contact.

Dave,

Thanks for the links.

All I need is one more state for WAS. A hard one at that. Utah.

If you noticed in the latest QST, a new contest award is being offered:
"Year of the State QSO Party" award. That starts in 2009. It's for working
all 50 states. Here is an excerpt from the rules:
 http://www.arrl.org/awards/ysqso/

A particular state flag sticker may be affixed to the certificate when a
contact is made with that state during any of the following:

a) the State QSO Party for that state

b) a QSO Party for any region that includes the state

c) any contest sponsored by the ARRL or National Contest Journal after (a)
and (b) has passed or if no such event is conducted during 2009

I'm not sure how to interpret that last one.. Does that mean you could skip
all the QSO parties, and then work all states except Kentucky in the ARRL
sweepstakes or work all states in the ARRL 160 meter contest? If so, that
seems like a poor rule for promoting state QSO parties.

I haven't found a good up to date schedule of state QSO parties for 2009,
but here is one for 2008:

http://www.hornucopia.com/contestcal/stateparties.html

The states not covered in this list are: AK, IA, KS, ND, and SD. NY is
uncertain because the Mid-Atlantic QSO party is uncertain. The listing for
NM may also be questionable, and of course the dates are probably a little
off.
